The Bar provided a casual and cheerful atmosphere for drifting round contentedly, or chatting of this and that. Colorful paintings by Kurt Jungstedt (detail at right) detailing the wine producing countries added just the right note. Stockholm was one of the first vessels on the North Atlantic that featured all outside staterooms in all classes. First Class passengers had choice of single or double accommodations. The enclosed verandah—with its wide windows providing endless views—provided an ideal spot for chatting and having a cup of tea. The green-tiled salt water swimming pool provided a refreshing and inviting diversion during a crossing.
