The “REX” is today the fastest ship in the world. In August 1933 she beat the record of Atlantic crosssings by covering the distance from Gibraltar to New York (Ambrose) in four days, thirteen hours and fifty-eight minutes, at an average speed of 28,92 knots. Her gross tonnage is 51.062 tons and she is about 895 feet in length. The SPECIAL CLASS and TOURIST CLASS of the “REX”, some of whose rooms are shown here, may be considered as among the best of this type of accommodation, due to the space, tastefulness and comfort provided. All services are organised with the utmost efficiency: catering is of the customary high standards for which Italian Liners are famous.
