mv Augustus and Giulio Cesare
The Italian tradition of luxury and style at sea was never so fully realized as it was with its post-war fleet of liners. Though its fleet had been virtually destroyed by the ravages of war, the Italian Line made a great effort to rise from those ruins, and thus were produced some of the finest vessels to ever sail.
First in this program of modern and luxurious vessels were the mv Giulio Cesare and Augustus. Veritable floating resorts, these ships epitomized the ingenuity of Italian shipbuilders, and showcased what the Italian fleet was to become.
